Check out this story . I just heard this on NPR and find the excerpt of the book Daniel Tammet has written pretty amazing.

Angela! I had an aquaintance with a mild synesthesia, (crossing of the senses) in which she saw people as colors. She told me "reds and golds often end up together." and other color combos as well! (She lacked his amazing numerical ability). Interesting article!
i want to meet these friends of yours--the angel and the color people person.

Sorry, I have since lost touch with colors-girl (she lived in Washington DC last I heard) and went to art school with my best friend.
The angel was a one-time experience, and he disappeared without a trace. I only interacted with him over a couple days.
That was in Indiana in the college dining commons.
